I have been writing stories all my life, but in 2004, during
my last year at university, I made the decision to become a professional writer.
I completed my Bachelor of Science, majoring in physics and astrophysics. A far
cry from writing you might say. However, I loved doing science and found that
inside a logical world could live the illogical. In the same way characters can
be the chaos in a logical plot.
Once I finished university I focused more on writing and completed a creative writing course run by Queensland Tafe. I've also worked with published author, Louise Cusack. Louise has assessed one of my novels and mentored me to help develop my writing techniques. In 2008 I attended the Qld Writers Centre (QWC) course the Year of the Edit (YOTE), which was instructed by well known author Kim Wilkins. I've also gained invaluable knowledge from science fiction author, Marianne De Pierres, and former Chief Editor of HarperCollins Voyager, Stephanie Smith, who have both advised me throughout my career.
I have written several novels and
many short stories during my career. I love writing epic fantasies, but dabble
in other speculative genre. I am a member of the Qld Writers Centre, the Vision
Writers Group and the Australasian Performing Rights Association (APRA).
My aim is to provide new authors
with the support and guidance that I received when was first starting writing.
